Non-profit foundation

Basic care for every animal, established by law.

Foundation Universal Animal Care campaigns for a mandatory, solidarity-based basic health insurance for pets — modelled on human basic health insurance. So that no animal is denied necessary medical care for financial reasons.

Mission

Ending avoidable animal suffering and euthanasia for financial reasons through a mandatory, solidarity-based health insurance for pets.

Vision

A world in which medical care for companion animals is a fundamental right of the animal and a standard requirement of responsible pet ownership.

Core strategy

Lobbying and policy influence, public awareness, scientific research and a ready-to-use legislative proposal for lawmakers worldwide.

Cover for acute care, prevention (vaccinations, neutering/spaying) and regular consultations.

Linked to the microchip

Enforcement through mandatory microchip registration at purchase or birth of the animal.

Social correction mechanism

An animal care allowance or income-related premium for owners on a low income.
